APARTMENT HOUSE COMMITTEE
AUTHORITY & ACCOUNTABILITY:
Authorized by and accountable to the Official Board (0B) of Windsor United Church OVUC).
MANDATE:
To manage the aparment house in a manner beneficial to WUC and the tenants.
MEMBERSHIP:
The committee usually has 3 members nominated and elected at the Annual Congregational Meeting for a 1 year tern (renewable).
The committee chairperson and secretary/treasurer or any other officers are selected by the committee members for a 1 year term (renewable). Where practical, members shall be members of WUC.
FUNCTIONS:
Strive to make our WUC Mission Statement live through increased involvement in the life of our church.
To provide to new members of the Aparünent House Committee with regard to the dudes and responsibilides of the committee.
To obtain tenants for each of the two apartnents.
To arrange for the maintenance of the building and grounds.
To ensure there is adequate insurance coverage on the property.
To handle all financial matters relative to the operaüon and maintenance of the aparünents including budget preparations, establishment of rental rates (and notification of tenants), collection of rents and payment of all bills for services, repairs, insurance, etc.
To attend all 0B meetings (chairperson or designate) to report on activities, provide input, pardcipate in decisions and to receive direction from the OB.
To prepare a year-end report for inclusion in the Annual Report ofWUC and presentation at the Annual Congregadonal Meeting.
OPERATIONAL GUIDELINES:
Meetings are held on an as required basis as determined and called by the chairperson, however, much of the business is conducted by telephone.
